Terpinolene is a lesser-known but still significant terpene found in cannabis and many other plants. It's known for its complex, multi-faceted aroma.

  • Natural Sources: Besides cannabis, terpinolene is found in a variety of plants including apples, tea tree, nutmeg, cumin, parsnips, lilacs, and conifers like pine.
  • Uses: Due to its pleasant aroma, terpinolene is commonly used in perfumes, soaps, and cleaning products. It's also used as a flavoring agent in foods and beverages.
  • Presence in Cannabis: While not as dominant as some other terpenes, terpinolene can still be a significant component in certain cannabis strains, contributing to their unique scent and flavour profiles. 

What Does Terpinolene Smell Like?

Terpinolene has a fresh, herbaceous aroma with notes of pine, citrus, and flowers. Its flavor profile is equally diverse, often described as a mix of piney, floral, and citrusy tastes.

It's also thought that Terpinolene has a calming effect, although more research is needed to fully understand its impact.
