RCMP Raid 3 Ontario Properties and Carryout Massive Drug Bust

In August, the RCMP conducted raids on three Ontario properties, resulting in the seizure of over 60 kg of magic mushrooms, 200 kg of marijuana, and over 1,000 pot plants. The investigation began when 1,365 marijuana plants were found on a property in Melanchthon, located about 60 kilometers north of Brampton. The Kitchener RCMP detachment initiated Project O COSMOS, which led to the arrest of six people and the seizure of several guns.

Along with the pot plants, officers also seized 88 large bags of marijuana in Melanchthon. The seized items also included 60 kg of psilocybin, 6.25 kg of hashish, 72 kg of cannabis edibles, 4 g of cocaine, 914 g of methamphetamine, 936 g of MDMA, a Glock 9mm handgun with two loaded magazines, a.22 caliber rifle, and two replica firearms. In total, numerous arrests were made.

The group of individuals, including Em Kha Khuong, Thanh Hien Hong, and Tuong Nguyen, have been charged with various offenses related to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They were charged with possession of Schedule I substances for trafficking, unauthorized possession of firearms, and possession of prohibited devices or ammunition.

Additionally, Thi Ty Do was charged with possession of Schedule I substances, Psilocybin, and cocaine. The Kitchener RCMP thanks the Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Shelbourne OPP for their assistance in the investigation.

The Kitchener RCMP is pleased to have seized drugs and guns from another organized crime group, highlighting the continuous efforts and commitments made by the RCMP and its partners to public safety.
